First Thursdays in Santa Barbara are kind of a big deal. The whole town gets in on the Local Arts' Community, coming out to support and socialize with like-minded people while looking at creative and beautiful exhibits. My good friends Lindsey Ross and Nelson Parrish collaborated on a show at SBCast. Lindsey is a photographer, specializing in Tin-Type. Nelson creates very profound wooden/resin sculptures called flitches. Their collaboration "Slow Hands" was one of the most beautiful shows I have ever been to. Thank you for letting me serve coffee at your show.
Trails N' Tails at the Botanical Garden
This was a scene straight out of "Best in Show." The Santa Barbara Botanical Garden hosted their annual "Trails N Tails" event. There was a puppy parade, a live sketch artist, a guided nature walk, and delicious ICED ESPRESSO! I had the time of my life, and conquered my fear of dogs.
Affogatos And a Wedding
Veronica and Ben had their wedding reception at a local church in Santa Barbara. It was a hot day which called for all iced beverages. The groom is obsessed with coffee and ice-cream so we had a blast turned every iced latte or mocha into a caffeinated ice-cream float! Of course we had to use McConnell's, the local favorite.
The Mill Coffee Cart
The Mill, at the corner of Laguna and Haley is now Santa Barbara’s local artisan marketplace uniquely zoned to manufacture product on site. It has a Production Winery and Tasting Bar, Craft Brewery and Tap Room, and Specialty Restaurant called Wildwood Kitchen and gym. One thing they don't have is a coffee shop. This is where we come in!
Pokemon Craze
Welcome Wednesdays at AppFolio are always a blast for us. For some reason the whole world right now is obsessed with Pokemon Go, an app that gets people out and about socializing and exploring, while "catching" Pokemon. We thought we would capitalize on this craze and put one on the cart for the employees to find.
Elings Park Pop-Up
We did a pop-up for a softball tournament at Elings Park. The parents really appreciated their coffee in the morning because they were there all weekend long from 7 in the morning until 9 o'clock at night.
Ballerinas and Coffee
The Westside Ballet of Santa Monica held their 40th Annual Nutcracker Ballet. It was a really fun event for Welcome to be a part of. Hot cocoas were the big hit of the night and the parents appreciated the pick-me-up as well. I was even able to sneak into the show a couple o times to witness these extremely talented ballerinas perform.
Coffee and Skating. SO LIT!
The new skate shop in town, Lighthouse Skate Shop, let us pop up and hang out with them. Black Sand Swimwear was there selling swimsuits. It was a really fun alley hangout off of the main street in the Funk Zone. People would walk by and see what was going on down the alley and were lured in.
Wine and Iced Coffee at Sunstone
The coffee cart popped up at Sunstone Winery for their Solstice Party. Other vendors were there as well: Neighborhood Tim's BBQ, Kona Ice, and Vallefresh Tacos. It was a hot day with live music, snow cones, good barbeque, and delicious iced coffees!
Funk Zone Solstice Party
Santa Barbara gets very crazy and eventful during Solstice weekend. Thousands of people come from all over to attend the Solstice Parade. We popped up in the Funk Zone to catch that flow of traffic. It was a front yard hang out at an artist's studio called Green House Studios. It also happens to house a coffee roaster in the back, Dart Coffee CO. I was pulling shots of Dart's Peru the whole weekend. Carter from Carter Paul Wines was there pouring wine for guests. We had an awesome time drinking coffee and wine, playing cards, throwing bags, and socializing with all of the folks who came to hang out.
